Thanks Damsel. I found the orange essence, it was actually very easy to
find, right there with the vanilla essence, even in our little local supermarket. Obviously I just never looked before. My daughter thinks we should make her favourite chocolate cake with the orange essence in it. So we'll try it this weekend. Orange and chocolate do go so well together, I'm surprised I never thought to look for it before. Jen |

Here's an Orange Chocolate recipe we adore. -= Exported from BigOven =- My Orange Hot Fudge Cake This is a combination of my Hot Fudge Sundae Cake and My Real Orange Cake Recipe By: Serving Size: 12 Cuisine: American Main Ingredient: -= Ingredients =- 1 cup Shortening 1 3/4 cup Sugar 4 large Eggs 2 tsp Orange extract 1 teaspoon Orange zest ; finely grated 1 1/4 cup Orange juice ; with pulp 3 cup Flour 1/4 ts Baking soda 2 tsp Baking powder 1 tsp Salt ~~ -- MARBLING -- ~~ 4 ounce Semisweet chocolate ; melted with 2 tbsp Water -= Instructions =- Sift dry ingredients. Cream fat and sugar. Add eggs to creamed mixture. Add dry ingredients alternately with juice and extract to creamed mix. MARBELING: Melt chocolate with water. Add milk or cream. Blend well. Place 1/3 batter in greased tube pan. Spread 1/2 marbeling mixture on batter. Put second 1/3 batter over marbeling. Spread second 1/2 marbeling over batter. Add last 1/3 of batter. I didn't start adding orange to chocolate until fairly recently, but it was worth the wait. Carol |

I just realised the recipe says add milk or cream, but it's not in the ingredient list, how much is needed? Thanks. Also, how does the marbling work? At first I thought it must have been swirled into it, but obviously that's not the case. Jen |
