Default found the orange essence

Thanks Damsel. I found the orange essence, it was actually very easy to
find, right there with the vanilla essence, even in our little local
supermarket. Obviously I just never looked before. My daughter thinks we
should make her favourite chocolate cake with the orange essence in it. So
we'll try it this weekend. Orange and chocolate do go so well together, I'm
surprised I never thought to look for it before.

Ah sounds good. Here's an Orange Chocolate recipe we adore.

-= Exported from BigOven =-

My Orange Hot Fudge Cake

This is a combination of my Hot Fudge Sundae Cake and My Real Orange Cake

Recipe By:
Serving Size: 12
Cuisine: American
Main Ingredient:

-= Ingredients =-
1 cup Shortening
1 3/4 cup Sugar
4 large Eggs
2 tsp Orange extract
1 teaspoon Orange zest ; finely grated
1 1/4 cup Orange juice ; with pulp
3 cup Flour
1/4 ts Baking soda
2 tsp Baking powder
1 tsp Salt
~~ -- MARBLING -- ~~
4 ounce Semisweet chocolate ; melted with
2 tbsp Water

-= Instructions =-
Sift dry ingredients. Cream fat and sugar. Add eggs to creamed
mixture. Add dry ingredients alternately with juice and extract to
creamed mix. MARBELING: Melt chocolate with water. Add milk or cream.
Blend well. Place 1/3 batter in greased tube pan. Spread 1/2 marbeling
mixture on batter. Put second 1/3 batter over marbeling. Spread second
1/2 marbeling over batter. Add last 1/3 of batter. Bake at 350F 60-70

I like the recipe, MoM, but where do you find oranges this period?
I don't see one orange in the markets around here

Have fun! I didn't start adding orange to chocolate until fairly
recently, but it was worth the wait.

Oranges are available year round in the US. You can also find orange
zest and extract in the spice section of the market, if you desire those.

I just realised the recipe says add milk or cream, but it's not in the
ingredient list, how much is needed? Thanks. Also, how does the marbling
work? At first I thought it must have been swirled into it, but obviously
that's not the case.
