New recipe tried last weekend. This is a great do-ahead appetizer for
hot weather when you don't want to heat up the kitchen or serve hot hors d'oeuvres: 4 - 5 slices dark Russian rye (no seeds) 8 oz. Brie, room temperature 8 oz. cream cheese, room temperature 1/4 lb. butter, softened 44 candy papers, approximately Remove the crusts from the brread and tear bread into pieces. Place in food procesor and process into fine bread crumbs. In a mixing bowl, put the Brie, cream cheese and butter and mix well to thoroughly blend. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 - 2 hours, until the cheese mixture has chilled and become firm enough to handle. Place some of the bread crumbs on a piece of wax paper or large plate. Using a teaspoon, scoop up some of the cheese mixture and place on the bread crumbs and roll into a ball, slightly smaller than a walnut. Press enough bread crumbs onto ball to completely cover it. Place each in a candy wrapper. Refrigerate until served. Terry "Squeaks" Pulliam Burd AAC(F)BV66.0748.CA "Most vigitaryans I iver see looked enough like their food to be classed as cannybals."
