Default Pattypan Squash?

I have two good sized pattypan squash and need some ideas. The last time I
baked and "stuffed" them with the sauteed flesh of the scooped out shell,
onion, garlic, etc. Looking for some different ideas. I'm not adverse to
using the charcoal grill (if in fact they'd be any good split and grilled).
Any suggestions? Thanks!

Jill

Throw them away. They're as tasteless as zucchini. :-)

Mom just used to slice it into wedges, steam it, then serve it with
lemon butter...

I've not had it in _years_. I've never seen it for sale in Texas. :-(
I grew up in a different state.

I prolly ought to try growing some.

My grandma from Texas used to slice them , dredge them in cornmeal, and
fry them- a little garlic salt would be good

Thank you for the suggestion! I rarely fry (not even stir-fry) vegetables.
I may have to rethink this, however, since I cooked some bacon this morning
and have some leftover grease; it sounds just perfect for this treatment.
I'll think it over

Now that sounds really good!

I grew up in many different states LOL I never really expected to find it
near Memphis, either. I think I ran across it here in the mid-1980's and
those were tiny so I was really surprised to see it again and at the size
they are. They are locally grown, which was another surprise. I'll give
this a try, thank you. Sometimes simplest is best

:-)

Just watch the timing like with any other squash.
It can turn to mush if overcooked, but I know you know that. <G>
