I made the rub when I didn't like all the recipes for rub that I found
in alt.food.barbecue, because I don't like chile powder or cumin (or too much cayenne or paprika in certain recipes). I made the sauce when I was trying to duplicate Bone Suckin Sauce - doesn't taste anything like it, but it's good. (If there's anyone who actuallycan get me a recipe for bone suckin sauce, post it.) I like to use the sauce as a dipping sauce rather than a finishing sauce. rub: 1 cup brown sugar 2 tablespoons paprika 1 tablespoon garlic powder 1/2 tablespoon onion powder 1/2 tablespoon ginger 1 tablespoon black pepper sauce: 1 can tomato paste 3/4 cup molasses 3/4 cup honey 1.5 oz wasabi 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar 1 tablespoon mustard powder 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder 1/2 tablespoon onion powder 1/4 tablespoon black pepper 1 tablespoon texas pete's hot sauce 2 tablespoons lemon juice |
