Anybody catch this new show?

I really enjoyed it! Duff is a personable guy and the staff were funny.
They're even allowed to *bleep*.

I watched a little bit of it the other night, but it was very
late and I had to get to bed. I did enjoy it though; they've
got some very creative ideas. But do people really eat those
fondant-heavy cakes..?

Yes, I watched it and really enjoyed it. Didn't realize he's from
Baltimore, my home (well, close by, anyway). I wondered how much they
had to edit, with the pressure of making so many complex cakes in one
week....it looked surprisingly like the staff were very, very
comfortable in front of the camera. The cakes were cool looking, but
honestly, all that rolled fondant and gluey stuff...I'd really rather
have a good tasting cake at the end of the day, and they didn't really
touch on that.

I don't know that I've ever really had all that fondant-ey stuff, so I
don't know about the taste, but some of those cakes that they made were
amazing!! I'm not so sure about them using the Rice Krispies treats
though....that's not really a CAKE to me! :P

I really enjoyed the show - he seems like a really cool guy to work
for. I will definitely watch again! :)

Looked like it. I personally found the show interesting,
but if this is all it's going to be I have to wonder how
long they can sustain interest. It seems to be somewhat
along the lines of Food Network's answer to things like
"American Chopper" - but how many different cakes can
you show being made before the audience starts to get
bored out of their skulls, especially if the group involved
isn't anywhere near the set of dysfunctional clowns you
get with the Teutels & Co.?
