Seeking help with cookbook book
Hello, fellow cooking enthusiasts!
I am compiling a collector's guide to old cookbooks, cook booklets, and cooking pamphlets and would like your help. If you have any PRE-1920 cookbooks in your collection and would like to assist me, please e-mail me the following information: 1. Title 2. Author, if any is named 3. Publisher 4. Number of recipe pages 5. Condition (on the G-VG-FN scale) 6. Dust jacket, if any 7. The price you paid, IF you bought the book in a retail or antique shop. I'm looking to compile listings for just about anything that contains recipes -- even old almanacs -- as long as they were printed in the United States. One exception is that I do not want periodical magazines. The collector's guide will include plenty of newer material, too, but as you can imagine, newer books are much more plentiful. Specific needs (scans desired): a genuine first printing of the Boston Cooking School CB (1896) by Fannie M. Farmer; any earlier Boston Cooking School books; 1887 edition of the White House Cook Book with no other copyrights listed. Later, I'll be looking for scans of other (newer) cookbooks. So far, I have plenty of time, but please provide a list soon if you're able. Write to me directly at or post here. This is a time for you to share your collection with others. Thank you! Frank |
