Default freezing b***s?

I have about 5 pounds of beets that are gonna rot before I (and only I) can
eat them fresh and they are too old to consider for pickles (I'm not ready
to pickle yet anyway). The BBB says you can freeze beets, so I was thinking
about that, but sometimes quality suffers with freezing. So, anyone here
ever freeze beets? What kind of results did you get?

thanks,
Kathi
