I'll bet she tastes quite nice. Although I assume she's a sweet
gherkin, and not a tart dill.

There was a dead spread theme on the other group, originally titled Dead
Spread for Sarah in which we paid homage to someone who had passed. When
all comments were made, Barb asked one of the other posters would he do her
the honor of hosting hers when the time (a long, long time we pray) for hers
comes around. I suggested she just be pickled, set on the table so she
could oversee the whole process herself........this led to how would she be
judged when the fair judges came by to pay their respects, etc. All done in
good fun.

Now a major question......pressure canner or bwb to keep her natural beauty
intact?

Neither, put her in a very large glass jar and cover her with vodka.
Maybe put an olive in it to make a vodka martooni.

If it was good enough for Lord Nelson it's good enough for our hero
Barb. :-}) (Note: had to change my caricature as I no longer wear
glasses since cataract surgery. There are some advantages to getting old
as I had been wearing glasses for 46 years.

Fantastic! I wish I could wear them but I have dry eyes. I have to wear
glasses because I have implants because of cataract surgery.. Of course the
lens are fixed (as you probably know) so I have to have glasses. Oh well,
better than not being able to see at all)

BTW, make it gin for me <G>

I will most likely have to wear reading glasses only. Opthamologist says
the lens implants are cut to the proper prescription to give me 20/20 in
each eye. This Wednesday and the following Wednesday I am having SLT
laser surgery to open ducts in the eyes to allow the pressure to drain
as I also have glaucoma and the eye drops I use irritate my eyes
terribly. Six weeks after that I will have further laser surgery to
remove the membranes that are making my vision cloudy plus a little
laser surgery to correct my right eye to 20/20. These folks can do
miracles but it takes forever at my age as it takes me longer to heal
nowadays. Oh well, getting older is certainly better than the alternative.

Did you have them both done at the same time? I got my right eye done first
and it is great. The left one is problematic. I had the left lens in my
specs changed about six months ago and it is needed again. I was at the
optician again today and after having taken photos of the back of my eyes
she wants me to be referred to a consultant

I was told that was likely, but isn't it wonderful they can do that)

Nope, right eye on 09/21 and the left eye one month later.

The beauty of this is that the whole shooting match is only going to
cost me about US$300.00 in co-payments, my insurance/Medicare takes care
of the rest.

Just think: fifty years ago you wouldn't have had ANY of those options!

That's true, even when my Dad passed in 1982 there was no such option
that took such a short time.
