Default Thank you Barb!

My husband kept saying we didn't eat enough pickles to warrant canning
any. And at first I thought it didn't matter since the cucumber plants
looked like they were all a show of foliage with no fruit. Then the
cukes starting appearing like Easter eggs all over the darn place. So,
I took note of Barb's recently mentioned B&B pickles and made them.

And it was a case of instant love between those pickles and Mr. Bill. I
had to move the jar out of reach before he ate every last bit--- and
those hadn't even mellowed yet! I'll be making more first thing in the
morning. Thank you so much, Barb, for that truly awesome recipe.
Superb. No wonder it won so many ribbons and prizes!

Ooooh, that just tickles me!! You're welcome. Did you look at the pics
of the process that I have posted on my website? Go to the
blahblahblog and find the July 28 entry (I think you have to go to the
archive link at the bottom of the page) about Rob's pickles. :-)

I did take a look. Those pickles look so pretty! Love your blog. Nice
to see that someone else other than me hangs their clothes out on the
line.

I did up another batch of pickles this morning and I'm just waiting the
3 hours now. My DH is jumping for joy lol.

Thank you.

Full Disclosure Mode On: I hang sheets and pillowcases when weather
permits. The clothes hanging on hangers from the tree --- I dry that
stuff in the dryer for a few minutes to get the moisture good and hot,
give them a good shake and hang them on hangers to dry. Usually they're
hanging from the water pipes in the basement to finish drying; in summer
I hang them from the tree (shade) to finish.

Sometimes I haul clothes from the closet for the pictures. . . .
Seasonal changes, doncha know!

I'm thinking of doing a pic with my unmentionables flapping in the
breeze or hanging from the tree branch. Trouble is it'd take up too
much space. . . . '-)

I wish we had a basement. Of course down here in Cajun Land it would be
an indoor swimming pool. The water table is very close to the surface.

Lovely memory of me n' the cousins running a pair of their papa's boxers up
the flagpole at camp in the middle of the night. Sans papa, of course. Prudy
ol' camp directors were not amused at religious plegeofallegience ceremony
next morning.

Naval Air Station I was on long ago had a shock at the morning raising
of the national colors. In the night someone had run up a tremendously
large pair of pink rayon ladies panties. Had to be a size 80 or
something close.

Base commander posted a Marine guard on the flag pole for about a month.

I do the same thing with stuff that can go on hangers--- run the dryer
just long enough (10-15 min) to take out the wrinkles and then I let
them air dry the rest of the way. That's mostly cotton knit shirts. I
started hanging clothes out, actually, to get more sun (vitamin D
deficiency). And immediately, our electric bill was about 15% less!!
So I got one of those retractible things for the basement for the
winter. It has 7 lines and can span over 30 feet IIRC. What a great
device! DH mounted both ends with heavy bolts that came with it. Now,
I use the dryer very little. People have actually asked me if my
neighbors complain that I hang out my clothes. Can you imagine?

My sissy (God rest her) and her kids live in a community like that. I put up
a clotheshangin' roundyround thing. She was threatened with a ticket so I
had to cut 2" off the staff that goes in the concrete. I wonder if people
will be so picky when the snowpack melts permanently?

I'm betting they won't. But the ones who take offense at line-drying
the laundry will likely be the first ones whining, "Somebody needs to do
something...". Not them, mind you, but somebody else.
