I have June apples in the Mehu Liisa for apple jelly. Think I will
use liquid pectin for that. I have another batch of Kiwi Daiquiri Jam ready to go. Not sure that I want to try to use the Mehu Liisa and cook jam at the same time, too crowded. I am going to use some of the bulk pectin in the Kiwi jam. The Country Store had the bulk pectin and the instructions are "use like un current recipes, 1/3 cup." The price here is a little more that what Barb pays, $5.65/lb. That is still much cheaper than Ball or Sure Jel. Hope it works. If it does I may go talk to Phillip about price for a larger quantity. Figure out how much I will use in a season. I also plan to do some more peach jam. The peaches are white with lots of pink/rose on them. I am going to use 1/2 of the recipe George used. That may be tomorrow since farmers market this afternoon. Right now we have farmers markets on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Don't have to stock up. -- Susan N. "Moral indignation is in most cases two percent moral, 48 percent indignation, and 50 percent envy." Vittorio De Sica, Italian movie director (1901-1974) |
