I ran into a family at Fleet Farm this morning: Late 20ish-early 30ish
daughter, husband, son, and her mom. In her cart: a pressure canner and the Bigass graniteware canner. I asked her if she'd ever done any canning before and she had not. I told her to follow the instructions to the letter. Asked her what she was going to use the pressure canner for. "Green beans." I said that's often what kills people so do be careful and DO read the introductory pages to the Ball Blue Book. Gave her the NCHFP site and the U of MN extension site. Cross your fingers for Kelly and Terri. I picked up the new BBB for me. And jars that are still on sale. I'm going to spent Tuesday morning with Beck's friend and we're going to make peach jam. -- -Barb, Mother Superior, HOSSSPoJ http://web.me.com/barbschaller - Yes, I Can! blog - check it out Lots of new stuff in the last couple days. |
