This morning, I made 9 half-pints of strawberry jam. Had bought four pounds
of strawberries last week and they just weren't getting eaten as fast as they should so into the jam pot they went. I wasn't even going to make strawberry jam this year. When I usually do, I go to the fields and buy from the farm stands. The berries they sell at the farm stands are specifically for jam. You can't but them in the local supermarkets because they are a softer variety that spoils quickly. The ones I made jam from were bought at Costco and those come from California. Have a much longer shelf life in the fridge, but it was time for them to go. -- -Marilyn |
