Miz Anne harvested a bucket of summer carrots today and then peeled and
sliced them. I canned them in the pressure canner and we now have eight pints of sliced carrots cooling on a folded towel on the kitchen counter. We've been thinning the little ones out by eating them raw, in salads, and even cooked since about May, they are quite good. Now we have some put by for winter. Regulars please note my new email address, the old Bellsouth one is gone for good. George Father Inquisitor, HOSSPOJ |

I saved the rind, so Barb's Watermelon Pickles are in the forecast for this weekend. Not really and thick skinned melon, but I wont let it go to waste Kathi |

We bought a yellow meat watermelon last week. I remembered them as tasty when I was a boy but this one was nasty, got mushy within a day. I'm suspecting it was shipped in from a long distance and was already old when I bought it. |
