Default Pear mincemeat

Opening the last jar of pear mincemeat from 2009 today. Making mincemeat
cookies as we like them as next best to a nice mincemeat pie. Our pear
tree perished in the winter of 2009 due to freezing, we miss it. I did
save the wood from the tree and now use it when smoking meat. Fruit wood
gives the smoked meat a nice flavor. Also saved the wood from our lemon
tree for the same purpose. Waste not, want not.

Miz Anne is doing well, we made a tour of the local museum yesterday as
she was getting cabin fever from being penned up here so long. Her art
students had exhibits there as did she and the other art teachers in the
school system. Very interesting, art made using throw away items and
salvaged things. Some were very elaborate and some were, shall I say,
intriguing. Anne is walking with a cane now and is venturing into
walking without the cane. Still can't stoop or bend beyond ninety
degrees and tires quickly but is progressing rapidly. Dare I say she is
"well preserved?" <G>
