Was in the neighborhood so stopped by the local Big Lots store. About 4
or 5 pallet loads of Golden Harvest jars, pints, quarts, 4 ounce jelly jars, another pallet of lids and rings with lids, all regular mouth size. The pint cases were $5.49 each while the quarts were $5.89 and the 4 oz were $5.49. Lids were 99 cents per dozen, considerably cheaper than at Walmart or the supermarket. Bought 3 boxes of lids, just in case we get a bumper crop of fruit this year. Also found and odd brand of pressure canner/cooker, no gauge but has the funny looking tall port on it, no description on the box as to how that works but assume it is a wobbler of some sort, maybe set for a set pressure. Hefted the box with the canner in it and it sure felt lightweight for a 22 quart unit. Still the price, at $29.95 was attractive but I passed on it. With everything we picked up we still had most of a twenty dollar bill left. I was pleased that I was able to walk around the store by using the basket instead of my cane. Felt pretty good too.
