Way back last June, I saw 10 top tips for Tilia usage and
immediately wrote to them regarding one of the tips to make an
infused oil (I think it was for garlic, coulda been some other
herb). I got a response today, and thought it worth sharing.

Email may not be the best way to get info in a hurry. ;>

Cool, a company who cares. Maybe sometime they will list that
making infused oils is *not* a good use for the Tilia.

Now you've got me curious. Do you have a copy of
the technique in question that you could post?

Well, I guess it will take them as long to remove it from their site
as it took to answer me... sigh...

Scroll down to summer tips #2...

Copied here for people like me who have slow connections... ;<

Tip #2
A New Use for Summer Herbs from your Garden
Use the bottle stopper attachment to make tasty infused olive oil!
Just add fresh rosemary, basil or your favorite herbs to a bottle of
olive oil. Use the FoodSaver with the bottle stopper and you will
instantly have wonderful oil infused with flavor that would cost
twice as much if you bought it at the store.

Fresh herb has water in it. When infused in oil and kept anaerobic
it is a great breeding ground for botulism. You can't see, smell or
taste botulism, but it can kill all the same.

See this lists FAQ http://www.gbronline.com/jacke/rfpfaq/rfpFAQ.htm
or the various food safety sites such as

I also emailed them about Summer Tip #2 way back on June 27/03 and
received the exact same reply as above on Jan. 7/04. Does seem just a
bit tardy. I wonder if enough people contacted them about it that ol'
Tim has been writing these replies since last June ;-).
