Default Sugar Cookie

Sugar Cookie

1 cup butter or margarine (butter is better)
1 cup vegetable oil
1 cup white sugar
1 cup powdered sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
4 cup flour, slightly packed
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. salt

Cream butter and sugars. Add oil, eggs, and vanilla. Sift or mix
together dry ingredients and add to first mixture. Refrigerate about an
hour. Shape into small balls dipped in sugar. Press down with glass
dipped in sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Half recipe
makes about 55 cookies. Using a glass with a cut glass decoration on the
bottom is pretty. Recipe of Edith Harms.
