Chocolate Cheesecake Muffins

1 package (3 oz cream cheese
2 tablespoons sugar
1 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg -- slightly beaten
3/4 cup milk
1/3 cup vegetable oil
Powdered sugar

In small bowl, beat cream cheese and 2 tablespoons sugar until light and
fluffy. Set aside. In large bowl, combine flour, 1/2 cup sugar, cocoa,
baking powder, and salt. In another small bowl, combine egg, milk, and
oil. Add wet mixture to flour mixture. Stir with fork only until flour is
moistened. Mixture will be lumpy. Spoon about 2 tablespoons batter into
greased muffin cups. Drop one teaspoon of cheese mixture on batter; then
add more chocolate batter to fill cups 2/3 full. Bake at 375F for 20
minutes. Dust with powdered sugar. Can be prepared up to 24 hours ahead
and reheated in foil.
