Simple Applesauce Cake

Samantha likes this one only because she sees me put applesauce in it..

1 cup Shortening
2 cup Brown sugar
1 Egg
3 1/2 cup flour
2 tsp baking Soda, dissolved in:
1 cup Warm Applesauce
1 tsp Vanilla
2 tsp Cinnamon
1 tsp Ground cloves

Mix shortening and sugar until fluffy. Add egg and stir well. Combine flour,
cinnamon and cloves. Stir in soda/applesauce mixture, vanilla and then dry
ingredients. Bake at 350 F for 40-50 minutes.
