Three Day Lime Pickles
7 lb. sliced or cubed cucumbers Soak 24 hours in lime water (1 cup lime to 1 gallon water). Move pickles gently in lime water 3 times while soaking. Wash well in 3 waters (carefully, they break easily). Soak in clear water 3 hours. Drain. Mix: 9 cup sugar 2 qt. vinegar (apple cider) 1 Tbsp. whole cloves 1 Tbsp. celery seed 1 Tbsp. pickling seed 1 Tbsp. salt Pour this mixture over pickles. Let stand overnight.
