Christmas Ham Delight
1 boned pork shoulder, 5 - 8 pounds 1/2 cup brown sugar 2 Tbsp dry mustard 1/2 cup pineapple 1 can of ginger ale (or beer) 2 Tbsp whole cloves Rinse the pork shoulder under cool running water. Place pork in pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and reduce heat. Simmer for 11/2-2 hours (add water as needed). Mix brown sugar and mustard together, set aside. Remove rind and season liberally with the brown sugar and mustard mix. Prick in the cloves all over the pork. Place in a slow cooker. Pour the ginger ale around the pork (not on the pork), toss in the pineapple. Cover and set the temperature to low. Cook for 6 hours, undisturbed...!! When cooked, remove the pork shoulder from slow cooker, discard the bone and fat.... Enjoy!! -- Rec.food.recipes is moderated by Patricia D. Hill at .
