Default Spiffed-Up Mac and Cheese

Spiffed-Up Mac and Cheese

1 box macaroni and cheese mix
1/3 cup white onions, diced
2 tsp freeze-dried chives
1/3 cup Gorgonzola cheese, crumbled
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/3 cup panko or bread crumbs
2 Tbsp butter

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook macaroni and cheese according to package
directions. While pasta is boiling, saute onions in oil or butter until
browned. Mix into prepared macaroni and cheese mixture the onions, chives,
Gorgonzola cheese, and egg. Pour mixture into greased loaf pan (disposable
aluminum or glass). In saute pan used for onions, melt 2 Tbsp of butter
and mix in panko or bread crumbs until well-combined. Sprinkle crumb
mixture over top of macaroni and cheese. Bake uncovered 30 minutes at 350
degrees.
