Default School Pizza Burgers

School Pizza Burgers

2 pounds lean ground beef
1 teaspoon oregano
1 Tablespoon diced onion
1 teaspoon ground pepper
Combine and cook these ingredients until done. Drain any grease.

ADD:
1 can spaghetti sauce
1 pound diced cheese (Velveeta, cheddar or whatever you like best)
1 small can tomato PASTE
Do NOT add these ingredients until the cooked mixture is COOL

Add additional seasoning to TASTE!

Put on open faced hamburger buns and bake at 350 for about 10 minutes and then turn on broiler for about 5 minutes.

This recipe came from my high school from the late 1950's. I graduated in 1962. It didn't hurt that my mother was also head-cook for the high school.
Store this mixture in refrigerator for use within a week... or freeze for another time. Enjoy!!!
