Cranberry Bread

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

1/2 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon salt

2 large eggs
1 1/2 cups orange juice
3 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 orange rind -- grated
1 cup nuts -- coarsely chopped
2 cups cranberries -- halved or chopped

Cream together shortening, sugar, salt, and eggs. Add orange juice
alternately
with combined flour, soda, and baking powder. Add orange rind, nuts, and
cranberries. Grease sides and line bottom of two bread loaf pans with
foil.
Bake at 350F for 45 minutes.
