Subject: Pineapple Matrimonial Squares

Hi

I'm looking for a recipe for some squares that are very similar to date or
matrimonial squares but are made with pineapple instead of dates. Anyone
ever heard of these?

Frances

My 30-year-old son and I recently attended his grandfather's funeral
in Edina, Minnesota. The day after the funeral and following the
services at Fort Snelling, the immediate family met at Pearson's
Family Restaurant at 50th and France, his grandfather's favorite
restaurant.

Grandpa Nelson always ordered the Swedish meatball sandwich and in
honor of his grandfather, my son ordered the meatball sandwich and
immediately understood why it was his grandfather's favorite. My son
would like to add this particular recipe to his growing list of
"specialty" items that he serves to guests. Does anyone have a recipe
for Grandma Pearson's Swedish meatballs? I know that there are many,
many variations on this particular dish, but we're specifically
looking for Grandma Pearson's recipe. Thank you.

I recently put up 8 jars of bread and butter pickles. When I first
started
the 7 - 8 day process, I used whole cucumbers and boiled water to cover
using 1 T. of allum. My end result where not as crisp as I had remembered
the recipe turning out when my Mom and her best friend had done some 20
yrs. ago. Both said to use whole cucumbers. Does anyone do this slicing
the cucumbers first? If so please send your refipe for bread and butter
pickles.
Arbee

Ive been trying to make something like extra strong mints, but ginger
instead of mint. Er, it hasnt worked :

Not managing to find a recipe, I made a guess to start from. I used:
6 spoons ginger powder
3 spoon potato powder
18 spoons sugar

and added enough water to just cover it. Nuked it for ages, but it
never reached the sort of high toffee making temps I was expecting. It
behaved more like mash than syrp I spread it out to cool and dry,
now what I have is more rubber sheet than textured toffee

Also the taste isnt really as strong as I'd like.

Now I guess I went wrong somewhere... any recipes?
Regards, NT

There is a recipe for Weezer.s Cheese Pie which I am trying to find. It
is a deolicious pie and I think it comes from a cookbook called something
like White Trash. Does this ring a bell?
