Mary * Exported from MasterCook * Swiss au Gratin Potatoes Recipe By : Serving Size : 6 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 pounds potatoes -- thinly sliced salt and pepper -- to taste 1/4 cup butter -- cut into small pieces 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease a shallow 2-quart baking dish. Place half of the potatoes in the prepared baking dish. Season with salt and pepper. Add half the butter and cheese. Repeat layers ending with cheese. Pour cream over top. Cover with foil. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Remove foil and bake 30 to 45 minutes or until top is lightly browned and potatoes are tender. Serves 6 to 8.
