Thanks Many things occur to me: Soup (prepared in advance), omelettes, Hot open faced sandwiches in the toaster oven. Pea Soup I do this often especially in the winter. I don't really have a recipe, just throw stuff in the pot. Not very critical at all. In a 8 quart pot: 3 cups dried peas 2 quarts water 6 cloves garlic 1 large or two small onions peeled, diced 3 carrots, peeled and sliced or diced Bring to a boil and simmer for several hours. Add water as necessary and then thin to your taste. (Some like it thick, other thin.) Once peas are cooked, I add salt, pepper, to taste. Just before serving, a little sherry is a nice addition -- Rec.food.recipes is moderated by Patricia D. Hill at . Only recipes and recipe requests are accepted for posting.
