This is a collection of smoothie recipes which Bill requested. I got
this collection originally from this site, so it's great to be able to
continue
sharing! Mary Ann in Florida -- where we love refreshing smoothies, too!

Healthy Smoothie

1/2 cup orange juice
banana
raspberries or blueberries
Tbsp of soy protien
tsp ground flax seed

Start out with the orange juice and banana in the blender and add the
other
ingredients one at a time and blend until smooth.

Berry Smoothie

1 1/2 cups cranberry juice
1/2 crushed ice (5-6 ice cubes)
1 large scoop raspberry sherbet
1/2 cup blueberries
1/2 cup raspberries
5-6 large strawberries

Make sure all the fruits are frozen. I start with a little and keep
adding to keep from ruining my blender. (I am on my second blender!)
Makes 1 tall glass (about 32 oz.)

Leslie's Breakfast Smoothie

(*note -- people who write smoothie books often recommend that all fruit
is
first frozen before it's added to the blender. this way the thick
consistency of the smoothie is maintained. It also keeps perishable fruit
from falling
victim to fruit flies and mold)

1 whole banana
1 1/2 cup strawberries
1 cup vanilla soy milk (sold in our regular grocery
stores, also at health food stores)
2 tablespoons frozen orange juice concentrate
(just scoop it right out of the container, keeping
it in my freezer)
1 cup vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup any other fruits that sound good at the time (blackberries,
mango,
and blueberries all work very well)

Place all of the ingredients in the mixer and blend until smooth.
watch out for lumps of frozen fruit that haven't yet been blended --
they're
sneaky. Remember, as well, that yogurt smoothies separate after they've
been sitting for a while, so this is not a make-ahead beverage. Pour into
a
cup and run! Makes one humongous smoothie or two moderately sized ones.
