Homemade Caramel Apples
Popsicle sticks Apples (red delicious or for tart taste granny smith) 4 Tbsp. milk 2 Tbsp. butter 1 lb caramel loaf by preferred supplier 1 lb of milk chocolate Assorted toppings of choice Wash apples and remove stems. Line baking sheet with wax paper and insert sticks into stem end of apple and set aside. In a pot combine the caramel with 2 Tbsp. of milk and 1 Tbsp. of butter; over low heat stirring frequently. Once melted should only take a couple of minutes reduce heat to very low and dip each apple 3/4 of the way into caramel mixture, letting any excess drip back into the pot. If desired dip into preferred topping. Place on baking sheet and refrigerate for 10 minutes. In a separate pot melt the chocolate on very low heat until melted and stir in remaining milk and butter. Dip the cooled apples halfway into chocolate, letting excess drip back into the pot. Place back on lined cookie sheet and refrigerate for 10 minutes.
