Correction: Milk added
This is a Great recipe.....My Grandmother used the same one, however instead of all-purpose flour we use self rising, it seems to make the pancakes fluffier. Also if you put just a pinch of baking soda in th batter it will make your pancakes crispy and brown. Don't forget to use a cast iron skillet. You can also add fresh garlic, basil, parsley, oregano and other herbs to make a stove top fried bread and serve with Italian dishes. Try it with sun dried tomatos. Enjoy!! Peace~! Mark S. Massie AIFD Favorite Pancakes 1 cup sifted all-purpose flour 3 teaspoons baking powder 1 tablespoon sugar 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 beaten egg 2 tablespoons salad oil 1 cup of milk Mix together dry ingredients. Combine egg, milk and salad oil; add to dry ingredients, stirring just until moistened. Bake on hot griddle. Makes about 12 dollar size pancakes or eight 4-inch pancakes *For thinner pancakes, add more milk. We also add cinnamon, nutmeg or ginger at times for a different flavor. -- Rec.food.recipes is moderated by Patricia Hill at . Only recipes and recipe requests are accepted for posting.
