New England Bean Dip

"I live in New England. This is a creamy bean dip made with red kidney
beans. It goes great as an appetizer with crackers. Enjoy!"

Yield: 4 servings.

2 cups canned kidney beans, drained
1 small onion, minced
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sweet pickle relish
1 pinch dry mustard
1 dash Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon white horseradish
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

Rinse the kidney beans, and set aside to drain. In a medium bowl, stir
together the onion, mayonnaise, relish, dry mustard, Worcestershire
sauce, horseradish, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Gently mix in
kidney beans until coated with dressing. Refrigerate until serving.

Smooth & Tasty Kidney Bean Dip

3 cups cooked kidney beans (1 1/2 cups dried)
1 onion, chopped
8 ounces cream cheese or creamy tofu
1/2 cup mild picante sauce
2 Tablespoons tamari sauce (optional)
1 Tablespoon chili powder
1/2 cup green enchilada sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder

Blend (in blender or food processor) all ingredients. Serve with fresh
vegetable pieces or tortilla chips.

Kidney Bean Dip

16 ounce can red kidney beans in water, drained
1 small onion, chopped fine
1/3 cup mayonnaise
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard powder
1 garlic clove, chopped fine
2 shakes white pepper
1/2 cup sweet relish, well strained

Mix everything together and serve with Ritz crackers only.
