Coeur a la Creme with Berries
This creamy heart-shaped dessert takes only 10 minutes to put together! Yield: 4 servings Cheesecloth 1 cup whipping (heavy) cream 1/2 cup sour cream 1/4 cup sugar 1 tablespoon grated lemon peel 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened 1 cup strawberries, cut in half Line a 3-cup bottomless heart mold (or a pan with holes) with cheesecloth. http://www.bakingshop.com/sugarcraft/cakepanshearts.htm Beat whipping cream in chilled medium bowl on high speed until stiff. Stir remaining ingredients except strawberries in large bowl until smooth. Fold in whipped cream. Spoon mixture into mold. Cover and refrigerate 6 hours. The reason for using a bottomless heart mold is so liquid that seeps out of the cheese mixture as it sets has a way to drain away. Set the mold in a larger pan or on a plate to keep drips off the shelves in your fridge. Unmold onto serving plate; remove cheesecloth. Garnish with strawberries. |
