Steak Stroganoff
1 medium onion, thinly sliced 1 tablespoon salad oil 2 beef cubed steaks 2 tablespoons flour 2 tablespoons salad oil 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 cup dairy sour cream 1 can (2 ounces) mushroom stems and pieces In 8 inch skillet, cook and stir onion in 1 tablespoon oil until tender, about 4 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside. Coat steaks with flour. Heat 2 table spoons oil in same skillet; cook steaks over medium heat, about 4 minutes on each side. Sprinkle with salt. Place steaks on warm platter or dinner plates. Drain fat from skillet. Add onion, sour cream and mushrooms (with liquid( to skillet; heat, stirring occasionally. Serve sauce on steaks. Makes 2 servings. |
