Default Rosemary Barbecue Sauce

Rosemary Barbecue Sauce

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This recipe will have guests asking for the recipe. This is especially
great on Barbecue Spare Ribs.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 cup red wine vinegar
1 cup of dry red wine
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 Tablespoons fresh or dry rosemary leaves
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme (or 1 teaspoon fresh thyme)
1 medium onion, chopped
1/4 cup green pepper, chopped
Sauté onion and green pepper in one Tablespoon olive oil. Combine all
ingredients in saucepan and slowly heat to boiling point; turn down
and slowly simmer for about 20 minutes to blend flavors. You may
strain the sauce or process in a food processor until smooth.
