Potato Patties
1/2 lb (226g) Ground Beef 2 Large Potatoes 1 Small Onion Caraway, Ground chili pepper, salt, coriander, Turmeric 3 Tbsp Vegetable Oil 1 Tbsp Tomato Paste 3 Tbsp All purpose Flour 1 Egg Bread Crumbs PREPARATIONS: 1- Dice the Onion. 2- Pre-cook the potatoes. 3- Beat one egg. DIRECTIONS: 1- Fry the onions with vegetable oil in a pot until translucent. 2- Add the Ground beef to the pot and stir well. 3- Add caraway, ground chili pepper, salt and coriander to the pot, stir until well mixed, fry the beef until it loses its redness and is nearly cooked through. 4- Add 1 tbsp tomato paste, and continue to stir fry for 10 minutes. 5- Put the cooked potatoes in a bowl, peel the potatoes, add turmeric and mash the potatoes until well mashed. 6- Now add all purpose flour to the bowl. Adding flour prevents the potato dough from being too sticky to handle. 7- Add the beaten egg to the bowl, it prevents the potato patties from crumbling. 8- Add salt (as preferred) and stir the mixture until well blended. 9- Take a fist full of the potato mixture/dough and pat it flat by hand. 10- Put 1 tbsp of the meat mixture on the flattened potato dough, wrap the potato dough around the meat to shape like a ball, and pinch the edges well to seal. 11- Use the palm of your hand to flatten the patty gently. 12- Lay the patty gently into the breadcrumbs and coat each side with enough to cover the patty surface on both sides. 13- Grease a pan with 2 tbsp vegetable oil and fry the patties over medium heat. |

to ensure the potatoes are soft drop them in boiling water for a few minutes and then cool before dipping in the batter...
