Pickled Grapes
makes 3 cups 1 1/2 C white vinegar 1 C sugar 1/2 C firmly packed brown sugar 2 Tbs coriander seeds 1 Tbs ground cinnamon 7 whole cloves 1 tsp salt 1 piece of ginger, the size of your little finger, peeled and cut into slices about the thickness of a dime 3 jalapeno chilies, thinly sliced 3 C red and/or green seedless grapes Combine vinegar, sugars, coriander, cinnamon, cloves & salt in a large saucepan. Mix well & bring to a boil over medium high heat. Remove from heat, stir in ginger, jalapenos & grapes & allow to stand for an hour. Covered & refrigerated, these grapes last almost indefinitely. |
