Viennese Shortbread Cookies
People love these. They are so good. Ingredients: 1 c. butter 2 c. flour 1/2 c. powdered sugar 1/4 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. vanilla Directions: Cream butter, sugar and vanilla until fluffy. Add dry ingredients. Use medium star design in cookie press. Press onto ungreased cookie sheets in long strips. You might need to straighten the lines with your hands. Bake at 375 degrees, about 7 minutes until lightly browned. I let them cool on the cookie sheets, as they are very fragile. When cooled cut into size cookie you want and put filling between 2 cookies. They are not fragile after they are cooled. Filling: Mix 2/3 c. powdered sugar with 2 T. soft butter and 1 tsp. powdered instant coffee, then dissolve in 1 tsp. boiling water. If too thick add water, if too thin add powdered sugar.
