Apple Cake



3 c. flour

1/4 tsp nutmeg

1 c. sugar

1 c. buttermilk

1 1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 c. butter, melted

1/2 tsp salt

1 lg. egg

1 tsp cinnamon

2 c. apples, chopped&peeled

1/4 tsp allspice

1/2 c. nuts, chopped



Grease a 10" tube pan. In a large bowl combine flour, baking soda,

salt, sugar,and spices. Stir in buttermilk, butter and egg just until

moistened. Do not over mix. Fold in apples and nuts. Spoon into tube

pan and bake at 325 degrees for 50-60 minutes or until center springs

to touch. Cool in pan 10 minutes then invert on a rack to cool.

Serves 10 fat slices.
