Default Washday Cake

Washday Cake



3/4 cup sugar

1/2 cup butter or stick margarine

1 cup flour

1 tsp. baking powder

pinch of salt

2 eggs

Fruit of choice

cinnamon sugar



Cream butter and sugar, add salt flour , baking powder and eggs, Beat

well. Spread in a 9 inch round or square pan. Cover top decoratively

with plum halves, drained or fresh apricots, sauteed apple wedges, or

whatever suits your fancy. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and bake 1

hour at 350 degrees. Cool and serve at room temp. or warmer. Great

with cream poured over it or small scoop of vanilla ice cream
