Hot Turkey Puffs
Makes 6 servings. 6 Frozen Puff Pastry Shells 2 Cups Cooked Turkey, diced 3/4 Cup Celery, thinly sliced 3/4 Cup Mayonnaise 1/2 Cup Almonds, chopped and then toasted 2 Tbs Onion, grated 1 Tbs Lemon Juice 1/8 tsp Black Pepper 1/2 Cup (about 2 oz) Shredded Cheddar Cheese Prepare (bake) pastry shells according to package directions. Meanwhile, combine turkey, celery, mayonnaise, almonds, onion, lemon juice and pepper in a medium saucepan. Cook over low heat until mixture is thoroughly heated and combined, stirring often. Fill prepared pastry shells with turkey mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 5 minutes. Sprinkle each tart with cheese, and bake 5 additional minutes or until cheese melts. Serve immediately. Note: You can substitute chicken, but the turkey is really wonderful. _______________________________________ |
