Kahlua Cake
Submitted by Janet Holliday of Simpsonville SC I have made this cake for over 15 years and it still gets rave reviews, and requests to share the recipe! I recently received a Sand Castle Bundt Cake pan and this cake came out beautifully in it AND made 6 extra smaller bundt cakes. I hope you will enjoy it! Ingredients: 1 box chocolate cake mix 1 small box instant chocolate pudding mix 1 - 16-ounce container sour cream 1/3 c. Kahlua 1/3 c. oil 4 eggs 1 - 6 to 12 ounce pkg. chocolate chips (or flavored ones) Directions: Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl EXCEPT the chocolate chips. Fold in chips after the other ingredients are well blended together. Pour into prepared pan ( I use the fancy types of bundt pans which have been sprayed with Pam or Baker's Joy for easier release). Bake at 375 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes. Be sure to check with toothpick in center for doneness. Dust with powdered sugar if desired or use a pourable frosting. I think this cake is rich enough without either but it does kick it up a notch to use the sugar or frosting. Freezes well too! |
