Crispy Sugar Cookies
Just have a big glass of milk handy as you will love these crispy sugar cookies. I have made these many, many times and they are always a hit. The dough will get puffy after being mixed in a bowl. They will also puff up during the baking process and go back down after taken out of oven. They do not really brown much. I like my cookie a nice size but these can be made smaller. Ingredients: 1 c. cooking oil 3/4 c. butter, softened 1 c. sugar 1 c. powdered sugar 2 eggs 4 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. cream of tartar Directions: Combine oil, butter and sugars. Add 2 eggs. Slowly blend in flour, soda, vanilla, cream of tartar and salt. Roll into 34 balls (approx. 1 1/2-inch). Roll each ball in granulated sugar, press into a crisscross with back of a fork. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes on an ungreased cookie sheet. Cool slightly and then remove from cookie sheet. Makes about 3 dozen.
