Default 'Nother use for starter

Fruit fly bait.

I forgot I had some banana peels in the garbage until too late. This
trap worked great. Took about a day and a half to catch almost all of them.

Cut a plastic soda bottle off just a little below the shoulder,
make a small hole (~1/16") in the lid,
put a spoon of starter in the bottom,
feed it a little,
stuff the top into the bottom upside down,
leave where the flies can find it.

More ups and downs of bachelor living.
