Default Mixing starters?

Has anyone tried mixing starters to see what happens?

I currently have Carl's Oregon Trail, Sourdough Jacks and
Goldrush. All seem to be vigorous starters. Each has a slightly
different smell. I feed them only water and bread flour.

I am going to mix portions of the three starters in
another container and see what I get.

I'll let you know in a week or two.

I have often wondered myself what would happen. I will be curious to
hear the results.

It's not against the law, and I suspect many people do it without
meaning to.

However, I'd keep pure specimens of my existing starters before engaging
in this sort of startermuckery.

Once again, the question comes up, are you in this to bake bread or muck
with starters?

Yes. I've mixed leftover starters from different origin and with
different flours and made bread with it and OOPS! You get BREAD! Dont
expect any "Wonder" starter, just expect it to behave diffrently.
