Default Whole grain newsgroup discussion

Hey everyone. Just want to let anyone that might be interested know that
there is a discussion going on at news.groups concerning the formation of a
new newsgroup dedicated to whole-grain foods, actually I started the
discussion myself. I know that there are some very knowledgeable bakers here
in the subject of whole grain breads, rye, whole wheat, spelt, etc, as in
alt.bread.recipes, but the exclusively whole-grain subject is usually a
fringe topic at best. I would certainly not be the one to find reliable
information on whole grain baking or health benefits, total newbie on the
subject but enthusiasm overflowing after my first attempt.

There are also groups in Yahoo (Jonathan Kendall's excellent group) MSN and
Google, along with websites dedicated to whole grain foods, but I would love
to see the subject brought to the avenue of newsgroups format. Big8
newsgroup moderators (and Brian Mailman) have suggested searching out other
enthusiasts and getting them to post at news.groups in my whole brain baking
newsgroup thread :

http://groups.google.com/group/news....5bd172e9?hl=en

I don't expect everybody to be for the idea, but any signs of interest
posted in the thead will be accounted for by the Big8.

Also, I know there is alt.fan.bread.whole-wheat but it's pretty much a dead
horse, a more generalized whole grain discussion might do better.

No, I didn't say that (no comment your your 'whole brain' there).

When I said "round up support" I did not mean "have them post in
news.groups." I meant, have conversations in the groups affected your
idea with the people who might be interested. I think I wrote something
about "gauging any interest."

If I'd meant "and have them post in news.groups" I would have said "and
have them post in news.groups."

And news.groups does not have "moderators" as an unmoderated group.
What news.groups is, is the group whose topic is discussing the
formation of new groups. You're confusing "moderators" with the 8
members of the "board" who vote on such things. And I've not seen any
of them posting in the thread.

You misunderstood, I did not say any of the 8 were posting in the
thread. I recieved an reply email (partially automated?) that said they
would be looking for interest in the idea at news.groups. Perhaps you
are unaware that the 8 watch the discussion. I certainly wasnt aware
there even was such a thing as Big8, or what they did, until I came up
with this notion.

Possibly completely automated. What was the return address?

I've been a "news.groupie" for almost 10 years.

While I still would not mind seeing a dedicated newsgroup to the subject,
Mr Kendall found an error in my email settings causing me the problem with
his Yahoo group, so this is not as important to me as it initionally was.
