Sushi (alt.food.sushi) For talking sushi. (Sashimi, wasabi, miso soup, and other elements of the sushi experience are valid topics.) Sushi is a broad topic; discussions range from preparation to methods of eating to favorite kinds to good restaurants. |

The Blue Pearl in Silver Spring is a AYCE place that also have a
limited choice of sushi. Just tuna, salmon, and eel. The young latino is getting pretty good in presentation except they are bigger than I like. I do like the tuna-salmon-avacado rolls and the sashimi is some times OK. Would you consider going once and give me your opinion? Some thing in the tip jar will net you anything of the limited choices available. I just want to get an opinion from a sushi person. |

The major problem is often not the competence of the sushi chef but the inferior raw materials provided by the owners. I also don't eat rolls all that often. Of course with the price of gas and travel time it might not be attractive to me. Actually some of the fish at the AYCE place are not bad. If they would only pay more attention to preparing the rice. There's been only once where I fould the rice to be wonderful. |
