Sushi (alt.food.sushi) For talking sushi. (Sashimi, wasabi, miso soup, and other elements of the sushi experience are valid topics.) Sushi is a broad topic; discussions range from preparation to methods of eating to favorite kinds to good restaurants.

Default Sushi Hama in Tucson, Az?

A co-worker mentioned Sushi Hama as being the best Sushi place in Tucson
(far north). Is this place worth the drive? I figure it is at least 90
minutes one way for me to get there so, between gas money and time, I could
afford to spend a lot more at a place farther south if they had good Sushi.
Generally, if I am that far north, I'm on my way to Phoenix so, I am not as
likely to stop on my way thru which is why I mention the special trip to eat
out.

Thanks!

Sushi Hama? NO!!! Those are the bums that bought out, and wrecked,
the great Sushi Ten! It's owned by a western business conglomerate.

I've eaten at Sushi Hama three or four times. They have (or at least had) an
all-you-can eat deal for (I think) $20.

I found the sushi to be good, but nothing special. It's a good value, but
I've had better sushi at several places in Tucson. As far as I'm concerned,
which is best at any given time keeps changing, depending on ownership,
policies, etc. At the moment, I'm between favorites, and couldn't even
recommend a favorite. I liked Sky Blue Wasabi, a new place on Craycroft just
south of Broadway, but haven't tried it enough times to make it my
favorite.
