Republic of Tea worth the price?

I recently received one of their catalogs and while I saw some things
I liked, I thought they were a little pricey. Are their teas worth the
prices they charge?

Thanks,
Mark

Generally speaking, I'd say no, it's not. You can probably find better
stuff for less. Their teas, from what I can remember anyway (since I
haven't tried their stuff for a long time) are mostly blends of unknown
origins. Many web-stores can sell you just as much tea for less money,
or of better quality, or both.

@ Mark. Republic of Tea are brilliant tea packagers; their retail packs
are as artful and creatively constructed as any on the market. But no,
their teas inside their packs aren't nearly worth the prices the
company charges. Understand that with an excellent firm like RoT you
are paying primarily for beautiful creative packaging and not for the
tea inside those packs. If beautiful packaging is worth it to a person,
then yes RoT is well worth the price. But if it's brilliant tea without
concern for glamorous packaging that's a person's goal, one should look
elsewhere than RoT.

As far as big distributors go I prefer Rishi which sells through Whole
Foods Markets.
