TeaSpring is a well-respected online vendor of Chinese teas,
particularly greens, among the RFDT crowd, and rightly so. My question is - is there an equivalent vendor for Japanese greens? I am looking for an online vendor, with a website in English. Target teas would mostly be medium grade Senchas at reasonable prices, say a max of around $0.25 per gram. I have done a little homework searching old posts, and found that both O-Cha.com and Den's Tea were mentioned. Any additional info or opinions on these or others would be welcome. I am in the continental U.S., in case that makes any difference. Randy |

They carry a very nice assortment of Japanese teas. What is RFDT? Ruth |

Upton appears to be in the US (in Mass). > What is RFDT? rec.food.drink.tea - this newsgroup. w |

On to the post ...) Yes, I have been a customer of Upton for a very long time, and continue to be. I like some of their Senchas and will probably continue to buy them from time to time. I'm just doing a bit of poking around to see what else is out there. Randy |

So, shipping is pretty quick and inexpensive, if you are located in the US. They made a change a couple of years ago and ship their teas to the US by air, rather than ship and they are much fresher, and more expensive than they used to be. The increase in price seems to match the increase in tea quality. Although, I really enjoyed their teas before the change also. I've never had a bad batch of tea from them. To me they are much better than anything I've received from Upton or Special Teas. Blues |

I think it didn't show up because it went to my e-mail, Ruth. I tried to e-mail you back but it bounced. Anyway, thanks for the tip. Randy |

I've been enjoying a fairly low priced "Spider Leg Sencha" from Nicholas Coffee, a local coffee roaster in my area. - Dominic |
