Default Unexplained teabag

An unexplained teabag turned up at the bottom of my "current teas"
cannister. It says "Pearson" on the tag. From color and fragrance, I
think it may be a tung ting that I bought from Ten Ren a number of
years ago. I boiled the water, thinking it was a black tea. It
tastes a bit flatter than its fragrance, but it,s an interesting
difference that I will not get again. Toci

Forgive me, but when I saw the subject header I thought: "Unexploded
teabag?!" Farewell 2008!

I kind of liked their tung ting. I bought I think second to most
expensive one and of course it's costlier than a similar tea
from a good online vendor but, hey.

I still have some left but I have no idea which is tung ting
and which, TGY. They seemed fairly similar to me and
I'm not sure I'll be able to tell by taste (and I never drank
much of either of them).

I should try to gong fu them with my newfound wisdom
electric kettle / gas stove heated water.

On second taste, I think I had a Jade Oolong which was somewhere in
the middle. Your TGY should be darker leaf and your Tung Ting should
be greener leaf? Toci

There's a life lesson here, I should label teas after I
get them.. The lighter one says 'T-40' on the paper
bag. I'm not even sure one of them is TGY anymore,
only sure about Tung Ting. One is very very slightly
lighter, but both are pretty dark.

Call them Oolong, and don't worry about it. Toci
