An unexplained teabag turned up at the bottom of my "current teas"
cannister. It says "Pearson" on the tag. From color and fragrance, I think it may be a tung ting that I bought from Ten Ren a number of years ago. I boiled the water, thinking it was a black tea. It tastes a bit flatter than its fragrance, but it,s an interesting difference that I will not get again. Toci |

I bought I think second to most expensive one and of course it's costlier than a similar tea from a good online vendor but, hey. I still have some left but I have no idea which is tung ting and which, TGY. They seemed fairly similar to me and I'm not sure I'll be able to tell by taste (and I never drank much of either of them). I should try to gong fu them with my newfound wisdom electric kettle / gas stove heated water. |

On second taste, I think I had a Jade Oolong which was somewhere in the middle. Your TGY should be darker leaf and your Tung Ting should be greener leaf? Toci |

The lighter one says 'T-40' on the paper bag. I'm not even sure one of them is TGY anymore, only sure about Tung Ting. One is very very slightly lighter, but both are pretty dark. |
